Where You’ll Work

The Progressive Care Unit at St. Francis is a 33 bed unit, proudly being the primary stroke unit, along with a focus in cardiac and sepsis care. You will have the opportunity to build on your education and experiences in areas such as cardiac, telemetry, neurology, sepsis, and surgical care.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our PCU Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, you will help critically ill patients by providing exceptional care, monitoring and managing their conditions, and administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

 

Every day you will be helping patients recover from surgery, accidents, illness, or complications from chronic conditions, with the goal of transfer or discharge.

 

To be successful in this role, you must be diligent and observant, with the ability to quickly spot changes in their patients’ condition and act appropriately.

 

  • Collaborate with physicians and nursing team to devise and implement individualized care plans for patients
  • Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
  • Educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits, while fostering a supportive and compassionate environment

 

We are offering up to $15,000 sign-on bonus and up to $10,000 educational assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska or nurse licensure compact. 
  • Basic life support through American Heart Association is required upon hire. 
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required within 5 months of hire.
