Responsible for the development, coordination, and teaching of EMS courses and continuing education programs which meet established state and national standards.

Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

 

Education: 

  • High School Diploma/GED, required

Experience:

  • 5 years of related experience in emergency medical services (EMS), preferably in both: field (911 ambulance and/or fire agency) and in hospital.
  • 3 years experience in instructing students by using adult learning principles and instructional methodologies.
  • Prefer experience in developing education programs.
  • Knowledge of the EMS, Law Enforcement and Fire Department agencies in service area.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing raw data, finding trends, and preparing statistical reports.
  • Knowledge and experience in medical/trauma terminology, disease conditions, pharmacology, cardiology, treatment modalities, therapeutic testing and interventions.
  • Knowledge and experience in computer instructional technology and Microsoft Office Professional software.

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Current Healthcare License and/or Paramedic Certification in state of employment. 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required, must obtain *BLS Instructor Certification with 1 year of hire/transfer date. If at the time of hire/transfer date candidate has BLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor Certifications than the basic BLS, ACLS and PALS Certifications are not required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certification (AHA ACLS) within one year of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor Certification (AHA PALS) within one year of hire.
