CHI Health Rehabilitation Care (Lakeside Orthopedic Center is a state-of-the-art medical hub in Omaha, Nebraska, providing integrated, patient-centered musculoskeletal care. The 49,500-square-foot, two-story facility houses both advanced orthopedic specialist clinics and a dedicated outpatient physical rehabilitation center in a single location. By bridging advanced medical diagnostics, surgical tracking, and customized physical therapies under one roof, the facility streamlines recovery pathways for patients overcoming bone, joint, or muscle injuries.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life.

Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals.

To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

  • Provides speech language evaluations, care planning, patient treatment and education according to the professional practice guidelines defined by state and professional sources.
  • Works as a collaborative team member to develop a coordinated care plan that is accountable to achievement of established goals.
  • Is knowledgeable and completes all required documentation and billing requirements according to established local, state and federal law.
  • Is responsible for the knowledge and application of measurable quality metrics associated with the area of active practice. Periodically attends team meetings to discuss/improve program evaluation/quality measures
  • Takes responsibility to stay current with evidenced based practice guidelines, stays current with new research introduced and serves as a professional resource to other team members in the area of speech language practice in a medical setting.
  • In support of the academic health mission of the organization, periodically accepts assignment of student clinical education at all levels of clinical training.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Masters in Speech Language upon hire
  • Speech Language Pathologist: NE upon hire 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association upon hire
  • Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology, within 18 - months
