Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiovascular Anesthesia Technician at Chandler Regional Medical Center, you will provide critical support in the safe and efficient administration of anesthesia, assisting providers with equipment and supplies for diverse surgical and non-surgical cases.

Every day, you will prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment, supplies, and medications before, during, and after cases. This includes performing complex procedures under direction (e.g., setting up and assisting with line placement, intubation, extubation), managing supply inventory, room turnover, and patient positioning/transport.

To be successful in this vital role, you will demonstrate a thorough understanding of anesthesia equipment and sterile techniques, possess meticulous attention to detail, and exhibit excellent communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

  • Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots all equipment according to instructions and the protocols of equipment manuals. Performs pre-surgical preparation, set-up and equipment testing.
  • Stocks anesthesia supplies and drugs in all operating and delivery suites.
  • Performs arterial and intravenous catheter insertion and autotransfusion.
  • Assists with induction/emersion, Swan Ganz-CVP insertion and regional blocks, calibrate and support of technical, janitorial and logistic in all service areas.
  • Cleans and disinfects anesthesia equipment after use.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • One (1) year of experience in the health or patient care related field
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia course, IV competency and Arterial line insertion competency completed, within 6 months
  • American Heart Association BLS
  • American Heart Association ACLS, within 6 months

Preferred

  • Six (6) months experience working in an operating room
