As our Surgery Nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide exceptional nursing care in the operating room during their most vulnerable moments.
Every day you will meticulously manage pre-operative tasks, including consent forms, patient education, and assessments, ensuring equipment readiness for surgical procedures. You'll keep family members updated on surgery status and directly assist the surgeon, applying skills learned through computer-based learning, instructor-led sessions, simulation, and clinical immersion with dedicated preceptors.
To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to maintain focus while multitasking, exhibit calmness under pressure, and exercise sound judgment in emergency situations. Our structured program, supported by an OR Educator and perioperative leadership, ensures a well-rounded and supportive transition into this critical Perioperative RN role.
