Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

  • Formulates a goal directed plan of care that is prioritized and based on nursing diagnosis and desired outcomes
  • Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent and continuous manner. Assesses patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual and learning needs at the preop interview and develops a plan for care
  • Performs documentation on unit and patient records that is timely, accurate and concise
  • Participates in staff orientation and development activities for unit and nursing division personnel as requested
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth by taking advantage of the available opportunities
  • Participates in unit quality management and PI improvement activities

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 year recent PACU experience in an acute care setting and 2 years recent critical care or emergency department experience.
    NOTE:  Candidates not meeting the PACU experience requirement may be considered if operational conditions exist to support the training of a candidate and no candidates meeting the experience requirements apply.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current California nursing license
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
