Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Materials Tech, under the direction of Materials Management leadership, you will ensure efficient flow and sanitation of medical supplies and equipment.

Every day you will disinfect equipment/carts, then receive, store, issue, and deliver supplies, preparing items for shipping as needed. You'll perform daily par-level counts, data entry for issued stock, maintain tidy work areas, and participate in inventory/cycle counting.

To be successful, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in inventory management systems. A commitment to maintaining a sterile, efficient environment and procedural adherence is essential.

  • Is a role model for the Hospital's Customer Satisfaction effort, i.e. demonstrates AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates and colleagues.
  • Inventories, Documents, and Replenishes supplies on PAR level carts and other Par level storage areas accurately. Insures all documentation is accurate and completed prior to the end of the shift. Inventories are normally performed utilizing Hand Held computer but may also be done on paper as needed.
  • Visually inspects all material to ascertain package integrity has not been compromised and that items are within their expiration. Dates. Pulls expired or damaged package and replaces with appropriate product. Locates and removes supplies identified in FDA or Manufacture recalls as directed by the supervisor.
  • Accurately applies the proper patient charge stickers to the correct products to insure proper patient billing and documentation. Requires minimal supervision in the performance of job duties. Schedules staffing in concert with management and arranges for backup when staff call in sick.
  • Accurately fills department orders for stock supplies, keys filled items into Materials Management Information System (MMIS), and delivers in a timely manner.
  • Routinely performs assigned tasks related to checking inventory par-levels, stocking, issuing, and distribution of IV solutions, disposable procedure trays and other medical supplies which reside in clinical areas of the Facility.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Two (2) years warehouse and distribution experience relating to medical supplies in an acute care hospital setting
  • Driver's License: CA
