Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Supervisor, Documentation & Coding, you will lead and optimize the crucial processes of medical documentation and coding, ensuring accurate capture of patient care services and health information.

Every day you will manage staff performance, coordinate workflow, address complex coding challenges, and ensure strict adherence to official coding guidelines, regulatory standards, and internal policies.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a steadfast commitment to coding accuracy, compliance, and data integrity are crucial for optimizing workflow and ensuring the timely and precise translation of clinical services into billable and reportable data.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of one (1) year experience in the discipline OR three (3) years’ experience in the discipline OR Master’s degree and no experience.
  • CPC or other accredited coding certification.
  • Knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, processes, work flow, KPIs and regulatory/reporting requirements applicable to the assigned revenue cycle function (e.g. cash management / refunds / credits / posting, clinic customer service, claims processing and/or insurance follow-up, etc.)
  • Knowledge of standards, practices and requirements relating to employee supervision, evaluation and performance management.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance, payer contract, and CPT codes.

Preferred

  • Prior Healthcare Billing Experience
