Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Research Associate Professor, you will initiated or contribute substantially to an independent line of original research study that supports one of the organization's scientific research programs.

 

Every day you will have the ability to garner peer-reviewed, extramural support. Write and published peer-reviewed, original research reports.

To be successful in this role, you should strive for excellence in performance.  Have knowledge to contribute to the field of research, and satisfies any continuing education responsibilities. Produce initial observations that are reliable. Provide constructive ideas for improvement of the research and/or clinical enterprise. Contribute to mentor's field of research and/or is engaged in fully, self-supported independent studies.

 

Responsibilities Include:


Is accomplished in producing original research or clinical care of high quality
Skilled in a research and/or clinical specialty
Has potential or has taken first steps to launch an extramurally-funded research program
Contributes to efforts to obtain grant funds to help support others and core functions
Has skills in critical evaluation of the literature and research programs and proposals
Delivers well-done research seminars and work-in-progress reports to the local community
Is familiar with resources available in the institution and locally.
Is effective in communicating knowledge base through formal or informal teaching activities.
Maintains continuity in linearity in project execution
Is accomplished in problem solving, whether technically- or conceptually-based
Readily adapts to challenges and solves problems
Provides methodological approaches appropriate to the problem to be addressed

Job Requirements

Required

 

  • Ph.D., M.D. or D.Sc. degree or equivalent in a relevant field of endeavor
  • Four (4) years of experience 

 

Preferred

  • Beyond minimum required, experience writing grant applications for support of own work and supervising more junior trainees
  • Two (2) years of postdoctoral training as a research fellow
