Dignity Health Advanced Imaging, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, provides cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services at 23 locations across Redding, Santa Cruz, Sacramento, Woodland. Our team of 160 staff members work with our specialty trained and board certified radiologists to provide high quality care to our patients. The locations perform more than 175,000 exams annually with the goal of providing top quality imaging, compassionate care, and timely service with a smile.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiology Scheduler, you will play a huge role in the patient experience, as you will be the first point of contact for scheduling critical imaging appointments.

Every day you will provide prompt, accurate, courteous, and helpful phone related assistance to patients as you schedule, cancel or reschedule imaging appointments. You will also collect patient demographics, insurance, authorizations and verify eligibility, collaborate with other Imaging facility staff and Radiologists to perform all functions related to the coordination of imaging scheduling, educate patients about medication limitations, any required labs, and prepare them for other exam protocols such as food, water, contrast, etc., and will screen and collect vital medical history details from the patient and enter into the EMR.

As a remote employee, we will provide you with the equipment needed to work from home, including a laptop, docking station, dual monitors, and accessories.

  • Manages comprehensive patient scheduling in Cerner & GECB, including medical history, device screening, medication/lab instructions, exam prep, demographics, insurance, authorization, eligibility, and prior imaging coordination for comparison
  • Proactively contributes to organizational quality and performance improvement through identifying opportunities and participating in team-based initiatives and projects
  • Demonstrates responsible resource management by adapting to organizational changes and utilizing materials, equipment, and finances efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Effectively plans and prioritizes work, collaborating with others, utilizing time efficiently, and consistently meeting deadlines and achieving desired outcomes
  • Exhibits professional and empathetic interpersonal skills, always prioritizing the patient, demonstrating respect and courtesy in all interactions, and consistently wearing identification for easy recognition

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School GED or Diploma
  • One (1) year experience in a centralized scheduling call center setting or minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in a health care setting
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
  • Keyboarding skills and the ability to utilize computer equipment and software are required as is experience with other types of standard office equipment
  • Team player, able to multi-task, self-starter, detail oriented and proactive

Preferred

  • Familiarity with an electronic practice management system
  • Experience with multi-line phones/ACD phones
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
