Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction.

Every day, you will deliver compassionate basic care, assist with patient transport, and actively contribute to the patient's plan of care as a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, upholding the highest standards of conduct and patient well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides patient personal care/hygiene and physical comfort to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients. 
  • Reports information to nruses and documents according to standards. 
  • Assists nursing staff in the admission, discharge and transfer of patients by performing activities.
  • Obtains and labels a variety of samples (e.g. urine, stool and sputum specimens); transports blood and blood products.
  • Prepares patient, equipment and supplies for specific procedures/examinations.
  • Provides patient information to nursing staff for inclusion in the interdisciplinary plan of care.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Minnesota
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 30 days of start date


Preferred

  • Experience in inpatient medical/surgical setting
