Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Nurse Assistant, you will provide compassionate direct patient care and essential support, profoundly impacting the daily well-being and comfort of those in our care.

Every day you will expertly assist patients with activities of daily living, meticulously monitor vital signs, document observations, and communicate effectively with the nursing team to ensure comprehensive and personalized care.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding empathy, strong observational skills, and a patient, dedicated demeanor, contributing to a supportive healing environment and overall patient satisfaction.

  • Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously. Refers to each individual by name when appropriate.
  • Consistently demonstrates caring and compassion through behaviors and interactions while performing of all duties, recognizing the inherent worth and dignity of patients, families, other staff, and physicians.
  • Fosters cooperation with the care team in meeting the patients recovery goals by sharing the workload, demonstrating flexibility, and the ability to foster equity.
  • Takes the initiative to be knowledgeable of and to implement those elements of the Plan of Care that are within the CNA scope of service.
  • Plans care and executes duties based on the priorities of the patients physical and psychosocial emotional needs as conveyed in the Plan of Care and by the Team Leader.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED 
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program within the last three years, less than 1 year or six months experience as a Nurse Assistant in an acute or sub acute hospital
  • One year of clinical nursing experience in an acute hospital as a student nurse within the last three years will also be accepted
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: CA
  • Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider
