As our Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, you will be a critical, real-time medication expert embedded within our Emergency Department, providing immediate, life-saving pharmacotherapeutic interventions for our most acutely ill and critically injured patients. You will be instrumental in optimizing drug therapy, mitigating medication risks, and leading medication management during high-stakes emergencies, directly impacting patient outcomes during their most vulnerable moments.
Every day you will provide expert pharmacotherapeutic consultation and direct patient care during resuscitations, trauma activations, stroke alerts, and other medical emergencies, making rapid, evidence-based recommendations on drug selection, dosing, administration, and monitoring. You will expertly manage complex toxicology cases, lead medication preparation in critical situations, and provide urgent drug information to ED physicians and nurses, ensuring medication safety and efficacy. You will also diligently contribute to quality improvement initiatives, precept pharmacy residents and students, and provide invaluable education to emergency department staff, enhancing the overall standard of care.
To be successful in this highly demanding role, you will leverage your specialized training in emergency medicine pharmacy, unparalleled clinical acumen, and unwavering composure to decisively manage complex pharmacotherapy in time-sensitive, high-stress environments. You will collaborate seamlessly and authoritatively with ED physicians, nurses, and the entire emergency response team, serving as the definitive medication expert in critical situations.
