Director Philanthropy Special Event and Gifts

As our Director, Philanthropy Special Event/Gifts, you will provide leadership to the overall strategic development, implementation, and execution of in-person, hybrid, and virtual internal and external events, aligning with the health system's Mission, Vision, Values, brand, and philanthropy strategy.

Every day you will contribute to creating meaningful events that promote brand awareness, engagement, and excitement among internal audiences, and foster strong community and donor relations. You will oversee event budgets, marketing/promotion, security, purchasing, production, parking, and all related operations.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership, strategic planning, and event management skills, expertise in marketing and communications, and a proven ability to execute diverse events while managing budgets, promoting brand awareness, and fostering community and donor engagement.

• Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources, to achieve program objectives.
• Setting high goals for personal and group accomplishment; using measurement methods to monitor progress toward goals; tenaciously working to meet or exceed goals while deriving satisfaction from the achievement, creativity, and continuous improvement. Goes the extra mile.
• Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short-term), tactical (one (1) - two (2) years), and strategic (three (3) - five (5) years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
• Identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one’s area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals. Resolves issues and problems, and makes a significant contribution to team efforts.
• Knowledge of the concepts, tools, and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit, and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
• Keeping the organization’s mission, vision, and values at the forefront of associate decision-making and action at CommonSpirit Health.

Required

• Master Degree OR a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.

• Minimum of seven (7) years of not-for-profit fundraising and development experience.
  Minimum of five (5) years of management experience.

• Certified Fund Raising Executive
