Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cook Lead, you will lead the preparation of food for patients, staff, and visitors of our healthcare facility following safe cooking techniques. You will assist in the oversight of staff to ensure that all processes and procedures are being followed. You will prepare food for multiple therapeutic diets and complies with state and federal laws and regulations related to food preparation in a healthcare environment as well as supporting quality control measures such as recipe adherence and food quality consistency.

 

Every day you will use your leadership skills to mentor others and various cooking techniques and methods to prepare meals that meet our customers’ expectations. Ultimately, a top-notch cook lead should be able to handle multiple food orders without compromising on quality while being an inspirational leader.

 

To be successful in this role, you must enjoy leading and helping others and working in a fast-paced, fun environment.

 

 

  • Champions food quality standards of appearance, taste, temperature and sanitation
  • Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, steamers, stove tops, and grills, etc. Modifies preparations to account for food allergies
  • Maintains proper labeling of food products and ensures storage of food equipment, and machinery per regulations and facility guidelines
  • Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in cooking and serving areas

Job Requirements

Required

  • Two (2) years of experience in food services
  • Food Handlers Permit (FHP:AZ) or Servsafe Certification (SERVSAFE) within 30 days

 

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree
  • Two (2) years of equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of the Associate's degree
  • One (1) year of hospital experience
