Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an OB RN at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston, you are integral to our mission. You'll apply the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and delegate care, implement therapeutic interventions, and evaluate responses, all while upholding departmental and organizational policies and procedures.

 

Every day you'll perform a variety of essential duties, from comprehensively assessing antepartal, intrapartal, and postpartum patients for risk factors, progress, and symptoms, to continuously monitoring, detecting changes, and taking swift action. You'll also respond to life-saving situations based on established standards and protocols, and collaborate closely with providers to deliver exceptional care.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Set priorities in care plans based on assessed patient needs, anticipating the necessary personnel, supplies, and equipment.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments in strict compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive patient and family education, empowering them with the knowledge to actively participate in their care.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills to detect changes in patient status and intervene appropriately.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Maintain a commitment to continuous learning and professional development within the dynamic field of obstetrics.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS)
  • Registered Nurse licensed by the state of North Dakota
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) to be obtained within 6 - months
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to be obtained within 6 - months
  • Stable Program to be obtained within 6 - months
