Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Serving over 100,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, heart care, women’s health, and a family birth center. In 2025, we opened our new patient tower, Grand Tower, featuring a dramatically expanded Emergency Department and Family Birth Center that will increase patient comfort and privacy.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal health-care professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

  • Provides effective and comprehensive evidence based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Completes patient assessments competently. 
  • Completes an individualized plan of care based on assessment of the patient. 
  • Implements interventions based on nursing and medical plans of care. 
  • After implementation, reassesses the patient to verify effectiveness of interventions. 
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients' condition.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • One (1) year ICU acute care experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Basic or Advanced Dysrhythmia Certification
  • Crisis Prevention Institute Training (within 90 days from date of hire)
  • LA City Fire Safety Training (within 90 days from date of hire)
