Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Completes all exams including all applicable ancillary charges and verifies exams in a timely manner upon exam completion.
  • Takes x-ray images of specified body parts as ordered and follows established procedures, processes images accordingly.
  • Practices radiation safety during exams in keeping with the ALARA principle.
  • Provides lead shields to protect unaffected body parts from exposure to radiation.
  • Performs all procedures as requested; determining appropriate exposure, proper instructions to and positioning of patient and with minimal amount of repeats.
  • Adapts exams to the needs of patients in special age groups, familiar with use of positioning aids (pigg-o-stat, etc.) in accomplishing pediatric exams.

Job Requirements

Required

  • OBMI Rad Tech license
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT within 6 months
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology Program or enrolled in an approved Radiology Technology program with completed clinical competencies
  • AHA BLS within 30 days
