Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Lab Scientist, you will accurately analyze and report all tests ordered by the Medical Staff, ensuring timely results and adherence to laboratory procedures and regulatory guidelines to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.

Every day you will perform a variety of laboratory tests with precision, meticulously document findings, and collaborate with healthcare providers to contribute critical data for patient care decisions.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail in laboratory testing and reporting, a deep understanding of regulatory guidelines, and a commitment to providing high-quality diagnostic information for patient care.

  • Performs cytogenetic testing with a high level of competency according to established protocols.
  • Generates and reports results which are used for making accurate diagnoses and prognoses, which influences patient care and management.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely result reporting, including communication and documentation of critical results.
  • Utilizes critical thinking skills and exercises independent judgment to correlate and interpret data.
  • Responsible for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments and appropriate documentation of activities.
  • Completes required QC and maintenance, consistently recognizing variances and documenting appropriate corrective action.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA.
  • Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory
  • Physical, Exertion, and Sensory - Medium

Preferred

  • MLS (ASCP) or equivalent (Per requirement sheet)
