Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Boiler Operator, you will operate the main plant and its associated equipment in the most energy-efficient manner possible.

Every day you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment in the main plant, diligently executing both normal and emergency procedures to keep the hospital fully operational. This includes managing normal and emergency power, heat, conditioned ventilated air, domestic hot and cold water, compressed medical and controlled air, and medical vacuum systems.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate expert knowledge of all main plant systems, possess a proactive approach to maintenance and repair, and consistently ensure the uninterrupted provision of critical utilities essential for the hospital's continuous operation and patient care.

  • Log readings of boiler and chiller pressure and temperatures.
  • Keeps assigned area painted and clean.
  • Inspects and repairs boilers, piping and associated equipment, to insure its proper operation.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manner,following all established department methods, as stated in the Engineering Policies and Procedures manual.

  • Personnel must at all times follow proper procedures when working in areas or on patient related equipment.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High School Graduate General Studies or Two (2) years equivalent work experience
  • High School GED General Studies or Two (2) years equivalent work experience
  • Must have a minimum of Two (2) years of experience operating and maintaining boilers and related equipment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in related fields desirable.
