Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Lead, you will provide critical environmental services and meticulous attention to cleanliness, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Every day, you will expertly clean and disinfect patient rooms, common areas, and high-touch surfaces, manage waste disposal, operate specialized equipment, and meticulously follow infection control protocols to maintain impeccable standards.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a dependable, conscientious demeanor, contributing significantly to a healthy and comfortable facility environment

  • Consistently completes assigned work on time while meeting quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Provides direction and supervision to Environmental Service Workers.
  • Prepares work and shift schedules for department personnel.
  • Demonstrates use of cleaning materials and equipment and explains methods of cleaning to staff.
  • Observes and reports items and equipment in need of repair to the Supervisor.
  • Ensures that necessary supply levels are maintained and makes recommendations as appropriate; ensures that supply and support areas are maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.

 

This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Two to three years of experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • High School GED
