Operating Room Coordinator

As our OR Coordinator, you will be responsible for the efficient and organized management of the operating room front desk, serving as a critical hub for operations. You will ensure seamless communication and logistics that directly support our surgical services.

Every day, you will manage operating room charges, meticulously schedule cases, and handle all communication duties related to the OR schedule and supply requisitions. You will also assist with inventory procurement, rectify invoices, and maintain optimal par levels for supplies. This role involves continuous interaction with staff, physicians, and physician offices to ensure patients are served in the most timely and efficient manner possible. You will produce and distribute reports and schedules as requested, and perform other tasks to ensure the OR runs efficiently, all while strictly complying with applicable standards of conduct and policies, and assisting in risk evaluation as needed.

Your meticulous attention to detail in scheduling, inventory management, and charge entry, coupled with your commitment to compliance standards, will be critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the surgical department and optimal patient service.

• Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients, visitors, staff, and physicians promptly and courteously.
• Refers to each individual by name when appropriate.
• Screens individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass.
• Accurately inputs charges.
• Maintains PAR levels of supplies, assists the Buyer with daily implant usage and replacement. Stocks supplies as needed.
• Demonstrates current competency in required skills so as to deliver a level of performance consistent with that outlined in unit specific performance standards.
• Remain aware of posted patient rights within the institution so as to ensure those rights are upheld at all times. Act as patients advocate as required.
• Develops and maintains good physician and physician office relationships by scheduling cases in a timely and efficient manner and answering phone on second ring.
• Accommodates all requests for service and immediately seeks guidance from manager or Director should difficulties arise in accommodating the customer's request from service

Required

• High School Graduate General Studies and two (2) years of experience general secretarial or reception experience, upon hire or
• High School GED General Studies and two (2) years of experience general secretarial or reception experience, upon hire and
• High School Graduate, upon hire or High School GED, upon hire and one (1) to three (3) years experience and
• The position requires two (2) years of experience general secretarial or reception experience upon hire 

Preferred

• Hospital experience is preferred
