Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Support Aide, you will be an integral part of the patient care team, providing essential assistance that enhances the comfort, safety, and overall experience of our patients.

Every day you will assist patients with non-clinical needs such as feeding, ambulation, personal care, and maintaining a clean and organized room. You will be expected to respond to call lights promptly, transport patients as needed, document basic observations, and communicate any patient concerns or changes in condition to the nursing staff, all while upholding patient dignity and confidentiality.

To be successful in this role, you must possess a compassionate and patient-centered approach, strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to follow instructions accurately, and a genuine desire to make a difference in patients' lives.

  • Patient Care

    Participates in developing plans for meeting the daily care needs of patients as determined by the care plan Assist with monitoring patients in the milieu.

  • Assists staff with patient admission, recovery, and discharge.
  • Assists in structured therapeutic activities and supportive interactions with patients Completes daily vital signs, patient rounding.
  • Assist with daily activities including initial assessment of belongings, grooming, and hygiene. Provides patients support including but not limited to transportation, ambulating, and positioning.
  • Monitors physical and emotional well-being of high-risk patients and reports unusual behavior or physical ailments to manager or clinicians that are more experienced; provides one-on-one supervision. Seeks validation of clinical judgment from more experienced clinicians.
  • Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and performance improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate General Studies , upon hire or
  • High School GED General Studies, upon hire and
  • 1-3 years 1+ years of experience in psychiatry or in abehavioral health related setting., upon hire and
  • Experience may include but is not limitedto care giving, transportation, security,direct patient care, counseling, andservices for this patient population. , upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and


Preferred

  • 3+ years of directly related experience in psychiatry or behavioral health settings., upon hire and
  • Experience working with the delivery and/or the provision of care and services for this patient population, upon hire
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: CA, upon hire or
  • Emergency Medical Technician: CA, upon hire or
  • Medical Assistant Certification: CA, upon hire or
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA, upon hire
