Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Interventional Technologist, you will prepare and assist physicians during complex interventional procedures, ensuring optimal imaging and patient safety.

Every day you will ready the procedure room, operate advanced imaging equipment, monitor patient vitals, and assist with instruments while maintaining sterile fields.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert knowledge of interventional principles, meticulous attention to detail, and collaborative skills in a high-pressure environment, crucial for successful patient outcomes.

 

  • Prepares and maintains equipment/rooms: Ensures all necessary equipment and supplies are ready, in proper working order, and rooms are prepared and cleaned according to protocol for medical procedures.
  • Performs and assists with procedures: Captures appropriate images per physician direction, utilizes sterile technique, operates specialized equipment, and assists physicians during various interventional procedures.
  • Delivers patient care: Provides comprehensive care for all age groups, assists with transfers, monitors vital signs (in conjunction with nursing), explains procedures, and protects patients from unnecessary radiation.
  • Documents and maintains records: Accurately inputs data into imaging systems and electronic medical records, maintains required logs, and prepares cases for interpretation.
  • Ensures safety and compliance: Responds to emergencies within their scope, adheres to department protocols, and complies with state/federal regulations for patient and staff safety.
  • Supports departmental operations: Manages inventory, stocks supplies, and handles general office duties like answering phones to ensure smooth workflow.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, Interventional Radiology or Special Procedures Technologist (or equivalent)., upon hire and
  • Lead: One year of work experience in the core level of the job or
  • any combination of experience or education that would demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Medical Radiographer: WA, upon hire and
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and


Preferred

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
