Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Transport Aide, you will assist staff by performing tasks related to patient transport and indirect patient care, ensuring the effective delivery of necessary supplies for continuous patient care.

Every day you will safely and efficiently transport patients to and from various hospital departments, deliver essential supplies and equipment, and contribute to the smooth flow of patient care operations.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong physical stamina, attention to detail in patient handling and transport protocols, and a commitment to providing timely and compassionate support to patients and staff in a healthcare setting.

 

  • Performs the safe, timely transport of patients interdepartmentally and upon discharge.
  • Accurately reports any observed patient status change needs to RN.
  • Promptly responds to stat calls and meets requests of clinical staff.
  • Conducts rounds for the proper, timely delivery and pickup of various items such as supplies, records, specimens, xrays, orders and equipment.
  • Responsible for the transport of patient valuables/belongings and ensures they accompany patient.
  • Maintains department stretchers, wheelchairs in patient ready condition.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS, American Heart Association
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift and transport heavy items
  • Strong English comprehension

 

Preferred

  • Experience as a nurse assistant
