Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Telephone Triage, you will work as a telephone triage Registered Nurse in the Call Center, managing calls from diverse clients including community members, physician practices, managed care members, and Home Care patients.

 

Every day you will perform health assessments using computerized guidelines, provide general health information from approved references, and as needed, provide physician and community service referrals. You will expertly function in a multi-task environment to support various client contracts.

 

To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with strong telephone triage skills, expertise in health assessments, and the ability to function efficiently in a multi-task environment.

  • Answer incoming phone calls for all product lines and provide thorough and accurate telephone triage.
  • Document all calls according to call center guidelines.
  • Assess patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records and clinical data. Evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health and safety and rights of each patient.
  • Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability.
  • Uses standards of care, hospital policies/procedures and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or by endorsement.
  • Three (3) years recent hospital, home health or clinic experience.
  • RN License; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
  • Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
