At CHI Health Midlands we proudly serve Sarpy County and surrounding areas in Nebraska with patient-focused care. When designing our facility, we kept the patient viewpoint in mind, setting a tone for a more comfortable, less stressful hospital stay. We provide our patients with some of the highest quality scores in the country in heart and vascular, emergency, and surgical care. Also, we offer high quality care in diagnostics/radiology, women's care, home care, orthopedics, sleep and breathing disorders.
As our Patient Access Team Lead, you will provide essential operational leadership and subject-matter expertise for hospital-based revenue cycle functions. You will act as the primary point of escalation for complex registration, insurance verification, and authorization issues, ensuring that our access workflows remain efficient, accurate, and compliant. By collaborating closely with management, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining service quality, fostering a professional environment, and upholding the core values and mission of our organization.
Every day you will coordinate daily work assignments and provide real-time guidance to Patient Access Representatives, Financial Counselors, and eligibility staff to ensure seamless patient flow. Your responsibilities include monitoring operational workflows to identify and resolve bottlenecks, assisting with complex patient registration and financial clearance tasks, and communicating payment options or financial assistance resources to patients. You will also participate in shift handoffs and team meetings, ensuring that all access-related processes adhere to regulatory requirements and internal policy standards.
To be successful in this role, you will possess 3–5 years of experience in hospital-based patient access or registration, with a proven background in a senior or lead capacity. You should have a demonstrated ability to navigate complex workflows within Emergency Departments or main registration areas, paired with strong communication skills and a commitment to professional excellence. While an Associate degree is required, a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration is preferred, as is prior experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Meditech.
