Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Imaging Tech - Student, you will contribute to our medical imaging department by performing varied duties tailored to support departmental needs and enhance your professional experience, above and beyond school requirements.

  • Performs diagnostic radiology procedures, providing safety for self, patients, and all other individuals to include radiation safety.
  • Produces and develops quality exams in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Prepares patient for exams; gives instructions to patients regarding procedures; assists the patient during the exam and positions the patient.
  • Explains the procedure to patients and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient's conditions.
  • Communicates, in writing and verbally, with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum care.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be enrolled in an approved ARRT, ARDMS or CNMTB training program, within nine (9) months of graduation
  • BLS from the American Heart Association

Preferred

  • Graduate of an accredited sonography program
