Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides.

Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.

To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential.

 

  • Always examines the requisition in order to be aware of information such as procedure requested, patient's condition and other special notes or comments.
  • Refers to the department manual to insure that all views are taken.
  • Labels all images as required. Evaluates images for technical quality before turning in study to radiologist.
  • Always verifies requested examination with physicians written orders before performing exam.
  • Checks the label of the radionuclide to be injected. Always measures the radioactive dose prescribed for the patient with a dose calibrator.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of AMA approved school forNuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Certified in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of RadiologyTechnologists (ARRT-N), or a Certification from Nuclear MedicineTechnologist Cert Board (CNMT).
  • State ofCalifornia Nuclear Medicine license.
  • Registered Nuclear Medical Technologist: CA
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days
