As our Clinic Pulmonary Function Tech, you will be responsible for performing pulmonary function, lung-capacity, diffusion capacity, and blood/oxygen tests to gather data for use by a physician in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disorders. Your work is performed within the scope of licensure and in accordance with physician orders.
Every day, this includes, administering pulmonary function testing and procedures on patients with suspected lung disorders, administering medications pertinent to pulmonary function testing, and calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting pulmonary function testing equipment to assure proper operation. Your work requires knowledge of the standards, procedures, and equipment/tools applicable to pulmonary function testing and applicable legal/regulatory requirements. You will follow proper channels of communication in handling daily and routine problems and recognizing issues that need referral to management.
To be successful in your role, you will meticulously perform pulmonary function, lung-capacity, diffusion capacity, and blood/oxygen tests, adhering strictly to physician orders and the scope of licensure. You will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency in administering tests and medications, diligently calibrating and troubleshooting equipment, and applying profound knowledge of regulatory requirements to ensure accurate data collection crucial for the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary disorders.
