Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an RN Educator, you will design, organize, implement, and evaluate evidence-based educational programs, orientations, and continuing education.

Every day you will facilitate the professional growth, skill development, and competency of staff, ensuring these programs primarily support the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring quality, safety, and service in patient and family-centered care.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong instructional design capabilities, expert clinical knowledge, and the ability to effectively engage and develop healthcare professionals, ultimately enhancing the standards of patient care.

  • Conducts ongoing assessment/analyses to identify and define immediate/future education/training needs to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, risk and patient safety requirements.
  • Collaborates with appropriate VMFH personnel (e.g. NEO clinic coaches) to identify transfer of classroom knowledge and skills to workplace behaviors and provides follow up for training and competency verification of skills that need review.
  • Plans and delivers and evaluates regulatory and educational/training programs and activities such as new hire orientation (NEO), regulatory requirements and quality improvement programs.
  • Maintains timely and accurate documentation relating to scheduling, attendance and participant evaluations; provides logistical oversight and resources to ensure the effective execution of training programs.
  • Serves as expert trainer for new employees and is responsible for providing technical training to other trainers and educators specific to current software applications deployed throughout VMFH.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing and three years of related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities.
  • Associate degree in Nursing and additional qualifying work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities may be substituted for two years of the experience requirement.
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire 
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
