Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprising Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St Francis Hospital - Interquest. St. Francis Hospital opened in 2008 to keep pace with the growing needs of the Colorado Springs' community on the north side of the city. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Health Information Services Tech III, you will perform all HIM clerical job functions, and manage rejected orders, suspensions, and duplicate/unlinked medical record numbers in the EMR, potentially assisting with release of information.

 

Every day you will process and resolve complex issues related to medical records, ensuring accuracy and integrity within the electronic medical record system, and may assist with critical release of information requests.

 

To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clerical and technical skills in HIM, meticulous attention to detail in resolving complex EMR issues, a strong understanding of record integrity, and the ability to work independently to maintain accurate patient information.

  • Able to perform all advance level function, duties, and tasks in the Health Information Management Department.
  • Demonstrates proficiency of the designated computer systems and the electronic medical record.
  • Oversee and manage the suspension cycle.
  • Processes done and declined orders.
  • Monitors the transcription QA hold queue.
  • Meets qualitative and quantitative standards.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of HIM or related experience working in an electronic health record OR completion of an HIM accredited program
  • Proficient in medical terminology

Preferred

  • Associate Degree in healthcare related field
  • Registered Health Information Tech (RHIT or RHIA)
