Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our per diem Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN), you will help patients experiencing critical cardiac and peripheral conditions receive life-saving interventions and advanced care at our accredited Chest Pain Center, so they can regain health and improve their quality of life.

Every day you will perform complex cardiac and peripheral interventions, including EVAR and Carotid Stenting, in our state-of-the-art Cath Lab. You will be expected to contribute to over 2,500 procedures annually across two advanced rooms, maintaining efficiency and high-acuity care standards.

To be successful in this role you must thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess elite clinical skills, and demonstrate genuine compassion while participating in a weekday and weekend on-call rotation for emergency cardiac care.

  • Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.
  • Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.
  • Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to the assigned unit.
  • Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.
  • Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership.
  • Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as a resource to staff from other nursing departments.

Job Requirements

Required

 

  • Minimum one (1) year critical care RN experience within the last three (3) years.
    • Will consider one (1) year Level I and/or Level II ED RN experience in lieu of critical care experience within the last three (3) years.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - American Heart Association
  • Candidates must have cardiac rhythms and basic cardiac hemodynamics and anatomy training
  • Ability to wear lead aprons for an extended length of time during procedures
  • Call required

 


Preferred

  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience
