Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant Lead, you will assume a crucial supportive role, facilitating and collaborating with the healthcare team and patients/families, and promoting optimal health and safety while leading day-to-day clinical operations.

Every day you will provide direct patient care, delegate duties to office staff, manage operational issues, ensure adherence to clinic quality, regulatory, billing, and customer service standards. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for daily operational issues, assessing, resolving, or escalating as appropriate to Clinic Supervision.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical skills, proven leadership capabilities in delegating tasks and managing operational issues, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service within the clinic.

  • Oversees all clinic staff as assigned in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and resolves clinical operational problems, escalating to Clinic Supervisor and/or Assistant Administrator as necessary.
  • Assists in preparing work schedules and in ensuring adequate staffing for patient volume.
  • Effectively manages clinical supply ordering and expenses, managing to budget.
  • Serves as a professional role model for all staff, demonstrating ethical/legal/professionalism in alignment with the system Standards of Behavior.
  • Precepts and mentors new staff or medical assistant students as needed.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
  • Clinical skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

Preferred

  • Diploma from an accredited medical assistant's program and externship completed; or EMT training
  • One (1) year of MA or EMT experience
