Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential direct patient care, assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Your role is vital for improving patient outcomes.

 

Every day you will assess respiratory status, implement treatment plans (oxygen, ventilation, airway management), and educate patients/families. You'll document interventions and collaborate with physicians and medical staff.

 

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and equipment proficiency. Excellent communication for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration, plus a commitment to safety and continuous development, are essential.

  • Performs diagnostic studies as ordered. Performs modes of respiratory therapy in the critical care areas and outpatient areas as defined in the department policy and procedure.
  • Performs patient assessment and evaluates appropriateness of physician orders and modes of therapy.
  • Maintains clerical and record keeping system.
  • Communicates effectively with all members of the respiratory therapy staff, nursing staff, and medical staff.
  • Evaluates performance and efficiency of equipment used.
  • Provides instruction and education to patients, staff and family care-givers.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of a respiratory therapy program approved by the National Board of Respiratory Care or equivalent education.
  • Must have worked at least one year of experience as a Respiratory Care Board Therapist.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, upon hire
