This position is a straight nights role, requiring a consistent commitment to specialized overnight patient care. In the quiet hours of the night, you will serve as the eyes and ears of the clinical team, ensuring that patients receive vigilant monitoring, comfort, and clinical stability while they rest and recover.

Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

To thrive in this vital role, you will possess keen assessment skills, acute critical thinking, and a patient-first mindset, driven by a profound enthusiasm to help others. Your sense of urgency and dedication to excellence in a fast-paced environment will not only support patient recovery but also fuel your own career advancement.

What you'll do...

  • Provide overnight clinical vigilance: Monitor patient status throughout the night, managing pain, addressing acute changes in condition, and ensuring patient safety during the critical hours when recovery and healing are a priority.
  • Provide a comprehensive assessment: Collect, analyze, and synthesize data to establish a health status baseline, continuously evaluating the patient’s response to treatment and intervention.
  • Collaborate with the health care team: Work closely with providers and clinical staff to develop and coordinate a seamless 24-hour plan of care, ensuring continuity of treatment from day to night.
  • Develop and implement nursing interventions: Use evidence-based practice to create and execute independent nursing care plans, addressing both the clinical and comfort needs of the patient.
  • Execute provider orders: Meticulously implement interventions that are delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed health care provider, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in administration.
  • Lead patient care teams: Delegate nursing tasks or assign nursing activities to support staff to ensure the plan of care is executed efficiently throughout the overnight shift.
