As our per diem night Registered Nurse (RN) on the 32-bed Trauma Med/Surg Unit, you will help injured patients recover and stabilize after trauma so they can regain their health and return home. Your direct care will be pivotal in managing complex trauma cases admitted directly from our Emergency Department and transferred from the TICU, providing vital support during a vulnerable time for patients and their families.
Every day you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for a diverse trauma population, utilizing your clinical expertise to manage complex medical/surgical needs. You will be expected to leverage our advanced monitoring system, communicating with patients via microphone through the camera/monitor in their room, and activating alarms when necessary to ensure patient safety. Furthermore, you will actively participate in continuous learning opportunities, including those provided by our supportive Trauma Surgeons who prioritize staff education to enhance your comfort and confidence in trauma patient management.
To be successful in this role you must possess a strong foundation in medical/surgical nursing, demonstrate excellent critical thinking and communication skills, and have a passion for caring for trauma patients. A proactive approach to learning and a collaborative spirit are essential, as you'll be working in a dynamic environment where continuous professional development and teamwork are highly valued.
