Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.

Every day you will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems, executing preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring safe and efficient operation.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail in diagnostics and repair, and the ability to work independently to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

  • Checks systems (i.e. battery charge, water heaters, pumps, furnaces, fire alarm panel) in electrical and mechanical rooms.
  • Completes walk thru of the facility to check for burned out lights, uncomfortable room temperatures, exit doors blocked, cluttered passages, unpleasant odors, water leaks, other building damage.
  • Regularly monitors heating and air conditioning units for unusual noises, and completes maintenance log on same.
  • Regularly checks water conditioner for salt level.
  • Cleans and replaces dryer duct hoses.
  • Cleans water inlet filters, checks hoses for leaks, replaces washers.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Associates Of Science degree (A. A.) or
  • Equivalent from two-year college or
  • Technical school or
  • Two (2) years related experience and/or training or
  • Equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to demonstrate basic math skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate good judgment and problem solving skills.
