Leaders in Specialized Care:
Why SJHMC?
This is an invitation to join a family of dedicated professionals at the forefront of medical innovation, united by the power of humankindness.
As our Director of Destination Care Operations, you will serve as the strategic leader for our high-acuity patient programs, driving operational excellence for patients traveling from across the U.S. and international markets for specialty care. You will oversee the end-to-end patient journey, ensuring a concierge-caliber experience from the initial inquiry through to post-discharge. By partnering with clinical leadership, financial stakeholders, and external partners, you will optimize workflows and grow referral volumes, positioning our facility as a premier destination for complex medical services.
Every day you will lead a high-performing team by fostering a culture of service excellence, adaptability, and continuous improvement. Your focus will be on the seamless integration of intake, registration, and financial counseling workflows, ensuring both operational efficiency and fiscal responsibility. You will conduct regular patient and family rounding to identify service gaps, implement process improvements, and provide hands-on leadership as the escalation point for complex, time-sensitive patient matters, all while maintaining rigorous data integrity and reporting standards.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field, accompanied by at least 5 years of progressive leadership experience within a complex, matrixed healthcare environment. You must demonstrate a proven track record in managing destination care, specialty referral, or international patient service programs. We are looking for an adaptable leader with strong process improvement skills, the ability to influence without direct authority, and a deep commitment to delivering culturally informed, high-touch care to diverse patient populations.
