As an HIM Specialist, you will Serve as a critical guardian of patient data, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and availability of health records throughout their entire lifecycle. You will act as a subject matter expert within the department, supporting clinical providers and internal stakeholders while upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance and patient privacy.
Every day will See you managing complex workflows in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of medical records—from high-volume document imaging and technical chart analysis to resolving data discrepancies within the Master Patient Index. You will spend your day proactively identifying documentation gaps, collaborating with medical staff to ensure chart completion, and handling sensitive information requests with precision and confidentiality.
To thrive in this role, You must be an independent problem-solver with a meticulous eye for detail. You should possess a deep understanding of HIPAA regulations and HIM best practices, coupled with the ability to navigate complex electronic health record systems. You are the type of professional who takes pride in accuracy, communicates effectively with clinical teams, and remains composed and organized when managing multiple competing priorities.
