Gift Shop Admin Coordinator

At CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs, patients are at the heart of our care. Our campus is designed to heal the body, mind and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services include a new pavilion featuring enhancements in heart and vascular care, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.

As our Gift Shop Coordinator, you will help create an inviting shopping experience for patients, visitors, and staff, working with the Gift Shop Supervisor to manage merchandising, promotions, and daily shop operations.

Each day, you'll design eye-catching displays, plan seasonal promotions, and help maintain accurate inventory. You'll also support the shop's financial management so it runs efficiently and meets its goals.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring retail merchandising experience, strong organizational and inventory skills, and a friendly, welcoming approach to customer service.

• Collect daily receipts, prepare deposits, reconcile the cash register, and keep the register and cash bag stocked with correct change.
• Track income and expenses in spreadsheet programs, prepare monthly cash flow statements and gross sales reports, enter budget data, and send daily sales breakdowns to Finance.
• Coordinate flower orders and invoicing, process incoming freight in the point-of-sale system, price merchandise, and keep the sales floor and stockrooms organized.
• Lead the annual inventory count, report low and out-of-stock items to the Gift Shop Supervisor, and manage online orders to ensure prompt delivery.
• Cover register shifts when volunteers are absent, assist customers with suggestive selling, and keep shelves neat and the shop tidy.
• Support volunteer banquets, the holiday party, and other volunteer events, represent Mercy Council Bluffs at events, and assist with Volunteer Services Coordinator duties as needed.

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of one to three (1–3) years of retail experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to multitask without supervision
• Basic computer knowledge of Google Sheets and web-based programs
• Analytical skills to complete deposits, general ledger entries, Gift Shop sales reports, and basic accounting processes
• If working in or traveling to a unit in Iowa or a Behavioral Health/Psych unit 
  • Mandatory Reporter Adult and Mandatory Reporter Child training, tracked through the Learning System (required within six (6) months)
