Dignity Health Advanced Imaging, a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, provides cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services at 23 locations across Redding, Santa Cruz, Sacramento, Woodland. Our team of 160 staff members work with our specialty trained and board certified radiologists to provide high quality care to our patients. The locations perform more than 175,000 exams annually with the goal of providing top quality imaging, compassionate care, and timely service with a smile.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW.

Every day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Performs diagnostic imaging per specific expectations as outlined by department Chief Technologist/Manager.

  • Maintains current California License, and continuous education units consistently.

  • Consistently reviews requests for special instructions from physicians on orders and consults with radiologist as needed.

  • Completely explains examination procedure or instruction to the patient in a clear, pleasant, and professional manner.

  • Demonstrates full competence in the use of all equipment and materials used to capture diagnostic images and perform mammography properly.

  • Proficient in producing clear images.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal AMA school of Radiolologic Technology or equivalent to an AMA Technologic program
  • Medical Radiographer: CA
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (AHA BLS)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology for imaging, proper operation of and care of radiology diagnostic equipment, and radiation safety.


Preferred:

  • One (1) year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Six (6) months experience in an outpatient environment
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
  • Medical terminology and familiarity with an electronic practice management system and PACS.
