Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

  • Checks patients and families in upon arrival.
  • Orients patients, families and visitors to Surgery Waiting and Cardiac Short Stay waiting areas.
  • Receives calls from procedural staff to escort patients and visitors to pre and post-op areas when requested.
  • Receives calls from procedural staff regarding patient updates and communicates all information with patients designated visitors in the waiting area.
  • Receives calls from physicians regarding post-op consultations.
  • Records detailed documentation on patient and visitor information and all calls received with procedural updates.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate or GED, upon hire
