Polysom Technician

CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, part of CommonSpirit Heath, a national nonprofit health system based in Englewood, Colorado. The faith-based system operates in 18 states and includes 103 hospitals. Additional services offered within the system are: long-term care, assisted and residential living communities, community health services organizations, home health agencies, and numerous outpatient facilities.

As our Polysomnography Technologist at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, you will help patients complete safe and effective overnight sleep and EEG studies so providers can obtain accurate diagnostic information to support patient care.

Every day you will prepare patients for sleep studies, apply and monitor recording equipment, perform overnight polysomnograms and/or EEGs, and respond appropriately to patient needs and safety concerns. You will be expected to recognize and report relevant physiological findings, communicate pertinent information to the physician, and complete testing and documentation according to established protocols and professional standards.

To be successful in this role, you must have strong attention to detail, the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, and the ability to follow established testing procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

• Perform and monitor overnight sleep and EEG studies, including patient setup, application of recording devices, and accurate documentation.
• Monitor patients throughout testing, respond appropriately to safety concerns, and recognize and report relevant cardio-respiratory, neurological, and sleep physiology findings.
• Administer oxygen, CPAP, and ventilator assist devices according to established protocols and communicate pertinent patient data to physicians.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly functioning laboratory equipment, including cleaning, sanitizing, maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Follow department protocols, American Academy of Sleep Medicine standards, and applicable regulatory requirements when conducting and documenting diagnostic testing.

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), within 6 - months
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
