Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Lactation professional, you will be a compassionate expert, empowering new parents to achieve their lactation goals and promoting optimal infant nutrition.

Every day, you will provide evidence-based education, assessment, and individualized support prenatally and postpartum. You'll address feeding challenges, develop personalized care plans, and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure integrated support.

To be successful in this role, you must possess deep clinical knowledge, exceptional communication, empathy, and patience, adapting strategies to individual needs for successful infant feeding and improved health outcomes.

  • Assume responsibility for the educational curriculum as stated in the breastfeeding policy provided to pregnant and postpartum patients and their families.
  • Assists director in the development, implementation, coordination of all education and training to all nursing staff in women's services.
  • Provides mentoring, orientation and training to all staff in women services.
  • Provides lactation rounds for postpartum moms and uncomplicated high risk NICU of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Maintains competency skills and continuing education related to lactation.
  • Supports the ten steps of baby friendly and WHO, Unicef practices.

Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Minimum of one-year experience in lactation education
  • Certification from recognized Lactation program such(IBCLC from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days
  • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
