Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiac Care Coordinator, you will oversee compliance and workflow in Heart Institute Non-Invasive Services, ensuring that pre-authorizations and accurate medical diagnoses are documented through active collaboration with staff. You will also be responsible for quality improvement activities tied to regulatory and coding requirements, including continuous review and adaptation of documentation, processes, and policies.

Every day, you will work closely with the Imaging Coordinator, Department Manager, and Medical Director, striving to enhance operational efficiency and maintain high standards of patient care. In addition, you will serve as the Vein Intervention Program Coordinator, managing patient scheduling, instructions, and essential documentation required for Vein Center Accreditation.

To excel in this role, you will bring a detailed knowledge of regulatory policies, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. Your focus on continuous improvement and collaboration will help drive excellent patient outcomes and uphold the highest standards of care in our non-invasive cardiac services.
  • Reviews schedules and procedure orders, cross references with medical record documentation to assure medical compliance and accuracy.
  • Serves as a coding and documentation resource for all department staff.
  • Reviews processes and work flow as appropriate to capture compliant documentation.
  • Coordinates acquisition of pre-authorizations for patients in any status other than in-patient. Performs after hour authorizations as appropriate. Acquires pre-authorizations as applicable for designated providers.
  • Participates in Quality Improvement program, documents activities that facilitate accuracy in documentation and maximizes reimbursement for procedures.
  • Assesses and proposes changes to department work flow and processes to capture required components of documentation including compliant diagnosis, pre-authorization, and medical necessity documentation.
