Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Specialty Educator, you will serve as a registered professional nurse who combines clinical expertise with a passion for fostering the professional development of our associates. You will be accountable for designing and implementing educational programs that enhance the quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care, ensuring that our nursing staff remains supported and highly skilled within your specific area of specialty.

Every day, you will manage the full lifecycle of educational programming, from coordinating clinical orientations to overseeing ongoing staff competency assessments. By analyzing data from audits, needs assessments, and regulatory requirements, you will proactively address educational gaps. You will work closely with Clinical Specialists, facility-based educators, and providers to ensure that all unit-level training aligns with both regional initiatives and established clinical standards.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively across departments while maintaining a high level of accountability for patient care outcomes. As a regional-level professional, you must be adaptable, as the role may require you to deploy to various clinical sites to support specific programs or organizational goals. Your commitment to excellence in evidence-based practice and staff development will be vital to our mission.

  • Develop and facilitate evidence-based educational initiatives, including specialty orientations, residency training, competency validations, and professional development workshops using adult learning principles.

  • Analyze regulatory requirements, survey feedback, and performance data to identify educational gaps and collaborate with leadership to develop targeted action plans.

  • Integrate current healthcare trends, legislative updates, and best practices into facility policies, procedures, and standards of care.

  • Support quality outcomes by focusing on nursing-sensitive indicators and participating in performance improvement activities to enhance the practice environment.

  • Facilitate reflective practice and peer feedback to create opportunities for nurses and students to expand clinical expertise and professional growth.
