Participates in protocolling outpatient exams with radiologists. - Completes exams on Meditech, including applicable ancillary charges and verifies exams on PAC’s in a timely manner upon exam completion. - Ensures MRI QC (quality control) is performed on equipment as stated by the Joint Commission and ACR. - Performs quality control checks, investigates and evaluates the MR system daily for any inconsistencies.  Notifies proper personnel concerning any deficiencies of the MR system or work area. - Wipes down all equipment with disinfectant solution after each exam; including bore of magnet, which must be disinfected on a regular basis. - Completes all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Assures all fields are complete in accordance with department and The Joint Commission safety standards.

Performs any performance and quality tests on equipment as required including ACR quality requirements. Checks all supplies for outdates prior to use and reports any shortages, variations or failures of equipment to supervisor, manager or director for follow-up. Uses CHI incident reporting system to report any patient injuries or concerns, equipment or supply failures or malfunctions, medication reaction or errors, and visitor or personal injury or exposure. - Is responsible to participate in and have a good understanding of all department, campus and system quality improvement projects, the ACR accreditation process, Radiation Safety, ALARA, MQSA, and State Regulations as they apply to staffs license or certifications. Be familiar with the requirements of CMS and Joint Commission and be able to speak to all department processes around quality and environment of care.

Each exam has specific defined protocols - Obtains assistance with any procedure which are not completed, or if there are any patient care issues. - Completes patient visit by ensuring that the exam is complete, the documentation has been processed including patient charges and the patient has been discharged safely. - Completes image processing, PACS QA, including the documentation of logs, demographic and diagnostic information required for departmental, hospital and patient record documentation. - Completes all image post-processing.

Documentation: - Utilizes patient clinical assessment and patient clinical history in making professional judgment that supports the plan of patient care and properly documents the patient assessment and clinical history. - Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. - Capable of using EHR - Documents pertinent medical history from patient on radiology request form. - Completes appropriate forms correctly: - Time Out - Pregnancy Statement - Medication Reconciliation - Imaging worksheet - Fills out worksheets on all patients’ exams. - Uses immobilizing devices as required by the patient’s age, condition or the procedure as determined by patient assessment. - Using professional judgment: - Performs the procedure as ordered with proper and appropriate indications for procedure. - Modifies procedure as required through knowledge gained by patient assessment without compromising diagnostic or therapeutic outcome. - Actively assist in meeting all department accrediting and licensing standards including: - JCAHO  - State Health Department. - Any other state, local or federal agency as required. Communication: - Ensures that communication supports the plan of patient care. - Communicates clearly with patients of all ages, peers and others in order to complete the hospital/physician plan of patient care. - Notifies the patient’s attending physician or Radiologist of any patient issues that affect the plan of patient care as directed as soon as possible. - Notifies the nurse at the physician’s office if the physician is not available. Procedures: - Provides appropriate patient care during the correct performance of radiologic procedures. - Safely transports wheelchair, stretcher and ambulatory patients as needed. - Documents technical factors on all procedures immediately upon completion of the procedure. - Performs venipuncture under the supervision of a physician on patients of all ages. - Assist the Radiologist within the technologist scope of practice as directed by the physician. - Functions as lead technologist or team leader during the absence of Supervisor. - Plans job assignments, relating to needs of the department. - Coordinates schedules and supervises technical exams to ensure quality diagnostic standards are maintained. - Maintains departmental efficiency and cleanliness. - Demonstrates proper working knowledge of sterile techniques related to a technologist’s need to assist Radiologist during invasive procedures. - Knowledge of Teleradiolography. - Coordinates their work schedules as directed by the needs of department. - Willing to work late if necessary. - Willing to come to work early if needed. - Willing to work on weekends and holidays as needed. - Willing to take call. - Assists other technologists when they have a problem with a procedure. - Assist student technologists on scanning techniques. - Orders supplies each week. - Reviews complete procedure to assure: - All organs are identified as ordered. - Procedure charges have been correctly made. - Physician’s order corresponds with printed order on exam request. Education: - Provides education for students, patients, self and others appropriate for the age that is being served. - Provides clinical supervision for student Radiographers. - Participates in student clinical competency evaluation by completing : - Weekly student evaluations. - Evaluates student clinical competency by observing student clinical performance and documenting their competence. - Pursues educational self development in order to maintain ARDM certification or ARRT, if also a Technologist of a different modality such as CT Tech or Rad Tech - Maintains education requirements. - Completes mandatory LEARN  assignments prior to due date. - Maintains CPR certification according to Health Care Provider course standards by the American Heart Association. - Attends school faculty meetings or monthly department meetings. We are seeking an energetic, compassionate and detail-oriented individual to work in a fast-paced environment. Urgent Care is open 7 days a per week and schedules are variable.   Job Summary: This job is responsible for preparing and operating radiographic imaging equipment to perform patient exams and related procedures that safely capture specific, clear and undistorted images to aid in patient diagnosis.  Work is performed in accordance with physician orders and under strict safety/regulatory/license departmental standards and protocols.  An incumbent also performs basic patient care/support functions under the direction of a provider and within scope of licensure, including obtaining/recording vital signs/patient information and performing point-of-care testing procedures.
