Critical Care at St. Francis includes a 14-bed medical/surgical intensive care unit and a 16-bed progressive care unit. In the ICU, we take care of patients who’ve experienced cardiac arrest, hypothermia and sepsis. In the PCU, we have a varied medical/surgical population of cardiac, vascular, pulmonary, bariatric and sepsis patients. Our ICU registered nurses provide primary care and we have an RN to patient ratio of 2:1. The PCU has an RN to patient ratio of 4:1. Job Summary This position is responsible for providing care to the patient who is hemodynamically unstable and requires complex monitoring of multiple systems and/or nursing interventions every one to two hours. St Elizabeth is a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital located in the town of Enumclaw Washington with a fully equipped 4 bed Critical Care department. Critical Care has additional support through Virtual ICU with expert nurses and providers. Critical Care RNs work collaboratively with Hospitalists and practice a great deal of autonomy as they provide best patient care. St. Elizabeth is the highest performing CHI Franciscan hospital for patient experience in Washington. Essential Duties Provides continuous cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia recognition and intervention. Initiates and titrates multiple, complex cardiac related infusions at higher doses. Manages intubated/mechanically ventilated patients. Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events. Manages acute trauma patients. Performs related duties as required.

Pay Scale: $36.79 - $56.28   Shift: Full Time, 6:45pm - 7:15am    Job Summary:   Under the direction of the ICU Clinical Coordinator the ICU RN performs duties of considerable difficulty, applying professional nursing theory and principles, and utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care given to patients.  Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing patient care.  Demonstrates clinical, organizational and communication skills in dealing with patients, families and other healthcare workers. This position requires on-call with a 30 minute response time.   Essential Duties: - Provides specialized nursing care to patients in Critical Care. - Observes, collects and timely records data related to patient’s biophysical, psychosocial, environmental and self-care ability Identifies and documents educational and discharge planning needs within the patient’s assessed learning abilities. - Analyzes assessment data to formulate a nursing diagnosis and to provide the basis for planning timely and effective nursing interviews. - Implements an age appropriate plan of care in conjunction with the physician, patient, patient’s family, significant other and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. - Documents and utilizes patient data to measure progress toward attainment of patient outcomes and patient goals. - Effectively manages and utilizes sophisticated equipment associated with critical care. - Involves patient and significant other in education and decision making process related to patient’s care. - Administers medication according to hospital policies/procedures to ensure patient safety. - Provides for and follows precautions to ensure patient safety related to fall prevention. - Ensures that equipment is available, in proper place and maintained in working condition. - Utilizes safety equipment in accordance with hospital policies to ensure for own and co-worker safety needs. - Provides direction to other team members of the nursing team to ensure that patient care needs are met in a safe and knowledgeable manner, and reflects efficient and effective utilization of resources (multidisciplinary).
