POSITION SUMMARY
The phlebotomist is responsible for skillful and appropriate specimen collection, by all methods, age groups, and outpatient settings. The position must record all outpatient lab orders and assist outpatient nursing services with order entry and collection of patient specimens. monitors Care Manager and LIS interface order entry for error messages, cancellations. handles routine send-out processing for reference laboratory work; assist with inpatient specimen processing and ordering if needed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collects blood specimens from patients of all age groups, according to section standard operating procedures, to include positive patient identification, and using proper collection technique
- Maintains specimen collection supplies in outpatient testing area according to laboratory policy
- Completes and Maintains all paperwork required for proper specimen processing in the laboratory of the outpatient testing area specimens

Also responsible for receiving specimens into the Lab from the tube system when needed and other processing duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Properly identifies patients, labels specimens per lab policy and transports specimens to the laboratory.The laboratory phlebotomist performs CLIA waived laboratory tests, adhering to all laboratory policies and procedures pertaining to testing, quality control, and proficiency testing to assure timely and accurate results.Must interact with patients in aprofessional and caring manner when providing information or collecting specimens.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and practices when interacting with patients/visitors and when performing phlebotomy.

- Performs urine drug collections for toxicology.

The Physical Therapist develops, implements, and supervises the home care plan for the physical rehabilitation of patients, under the direction of the attending physician and clinical branch leadership.
- Performs initial evaluations and establishes care plan, including environmental modifications, for continued needs based on the patient assessment. Performs physical therapy treatments according to the plan of treatment. Evaluates and revises care plans and assignment sheets based on changes in patients and the environment.

- Provides patient care education to patient and other caregivers.
